The closest big city is Larisa, situated in the center of mainland Greece and a major transport hub, offering easy access to numerous places of interest. The city centre is really lively and features an ancient theatre and the remains of an acropolis with archaeological layers dating 8000 years back to Neolithic times.The city center is modern, has endless shopping and entertainment opportunities and life focuses around three main squares and a park.
Travelling north from Lárissa, the motorway heads towards Thessaloníki via the renowned Valey of Témbi, passing just by mount Olympus, before emerging on the so called Olympic coast. If you opt to travel south, the city of Volos is only 60 km away, where you may also catch the ferry across to the sporadic islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos or visit legendary Pelion.
Last but not least the Unesco World Heritage, Meteora Monasteries lie about 1,30hr away for the city.
